Dragon shaped cleaver from the Appalachian region of the USA. Features a walnut handle. Has a huge blade and dragon head with an open mouth, and sharp teeth in the mouth. Great details on this piece, horns, deep set eyes and hollow nose eyes, and nicely detailed spine, very rare. Weighs 1 pound, 3.85 ounces. 9 inches long, 5 inches at the blade.

Beaver shaped cleaver is from Englishtown, New Jersey, half top-quality antique cutlery and half folk-art. It dates probably to the mid-late 1970's. It's
a smaller piece by cleaver standards, probably made to be used with small game birds,chicken or even for veggies in
the manner of a Chinese chef's
cleaver. Weighs 8.8 ounces. 12

Elongated Cow shaped cleaver from the USSR is made of stainless steel. The handle
of the cleaver has a full tang
and is encased on both sides with light colored wood,
secured by steels pins. The cleaver is very small compared to most. Weighs 12.3 ounces. 9.5 inches long, 3 inches

Pig with Wings cleaver was newly forged in February of 2020 by self-taught Blacksmith Tim Russell of Buchanan, Michigan. Russell has been forging in his shop since 2011. According to Russell, "I plan on doing this until I take my last, dying breath.” Russell's work is as much folk art as function.
The hand forged details are a
signature of his work which
makes his pieces stand out in
quality compared with other

Bull cleaver from Europe is
hand forged steel figural meat
cleaver, vegetable chopper in the very rare shape of a bull. The steel handle of the cleaver is encased on both sides with dark wood secured by a steel
rivet. The bull has brass inlay
for eyes. This is a great looking
piece and these cleavers were a big part of country farm
living in 19th century Europe. Weighs 1 pound, 6.1 ounces.

Zagreb, in the Republic of
Croatia. The handle of the cleaver has a full tang and is encased on both sides with dark wood secured by brass pins, also has a brass inlay for the eye. Weighs 2 pounds, 0.2 ounces. 12 inches long, 5.5 inches at the blade.
This hammer headed, meat tenderizer cleaver is a one of a kind! Make 1974 from the USSR, has the in Italy C-B on it near the date. This combination has not been seen before. Some Soviet Union prisoner cleavers have a meat tenderizer built onto them, but are usually a totally different hatchet style. This is the only integrated design I have ever seen. Tortoise cleaver was newly forged in May of 2020 by self-taught Blacksmith Tim Russell

This is an unusual double squirrel shaped, butcher's
meat cleaver from the Ukraine. The cleaver has a full tang an a plastic handle, the steel cleaver has some pitting and the finish
is eaten off on the right hand squirrel, looks like heat damage. Weighs 1 pound 7.9 ounces.

This European, cleaver and herb chopper is from Borre, France. The gator looking steel chopper has a copper eye and a full tang with a copper fitting around the end of the handle. This is the first backwards facing handle and copper I have seen. Weighs

A forged steel coyote shaped meat cleaver came to me from the Ukraine, rusted, and with a busted handle. Sent it to Kevin Greenlee, from Gig Harbor, Washington and had him restore the piece. Weighs
